Program Hours: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Continental breakfast: 8:00am. - 8:30am ( Lunch included )
Dress Code: Business or Business Casual (No blue jeans, etc.)

Objective: This program will develops skills that will enable you to become a successful manager in today’s fast paced, demanding, world of work. You will also learn important skills for leading the people on your team, delegating effectively, collaborating for improved outcomes, and solving problems and making decisions.

Target Audience: All new managers and managers that need to improve their management skills.

Focus:
- Relate the many “hats” managers wear to the work they do.
- Identify obstacles to transitioning to management and strategies for managing those obstacles.
- Differentiate between beliefs about management that are myths and those that are realities.
- Develop skills in four key areas of management: delegation, team effectiveness, collaboration, and decision making.

Instructor: Dr. Peggy Hutcheson
Dr. Hutcheson is a leader in organization development, human capital management, and leadership with more than 20 years experience working with engineers, technical leaders, and scientists. She serves as VP for Marketing & Communication for the Southeastern Association of Facilitators, chairs IEEE-USA's Employment and Career Services, and is Co-chair of IEEE-USA's Innovation Institute.
